Thanks to Mark Howells, we now have a fabulous swissbloggers group on flickr!

You don’t have to be a starblogger to participate, just join the group and start uploading your Swiss blogger pics!

Well done, Mark :-).

It would be interesting to have a pictorial and textual timeline/zeitgeist of the blogger movement in .ch :) Are there perhaps any historians or sociologists in the Swiss blogosphere? If so, consider this topic for your next study project or so.. ;)

Ben hosts a couple of pictures of an early (though probably not the first) blogger meeting:

You might want to add those pictures too.

    Participants:
    Ingo (http://www.thinktecture.com/) (*German* blogger)

The History of Swiss Blogging, Volumes I-X, soon in every bookstore! :-D

I usually make an announcement if I hear of other blog meetings, but I missed the last Bloggy Friday; didn’t pay attention.

As for the pics, I’d prefer if you could post them to flickr, please :-)

sorry, i guess i was a bit too enthusiastic. i didn’t notice that ben’s pictures are released as “cc by-nd-nc”. i doubt that flickr is in accordance with this particular cc license:

    * afaik, flickr images can be modified (commented etc.). this probably contradicts “nd”.
    * does flickr qualify as “nc”? i don’t think so (but actually i really don’t know)

further, i wonder whether flickr’s “terms of use” are compatible with cc licenses in general. take a look at the following terms, for example:

    * “We reserve the right to alter these Terms of Use at any time. If the alterations constitute a material change to the Terms of Use, we will notify you via Flickr’s internal messaging service (‘FlickrMail’) or via internet mail according to the preference expressed on your account. What constitutes a “material change” will be determined at our sole discretion, in good faith and using common sense and reasonable judgement.”

    * “However, pages on other websites which display images hosted on flickr.com must provide a link back to Flickr from each photo to its photo page on Flickr.”

as a conclusion, i think i should better leave the decision to ben, whether to publish his pics on flickr or not. perhaps, he might want to adjust his licensing conditions accordingly (as the holder of the copyright, he’s the only one who can do this). i’ve forwarded the request to ben. atm, he’s off duty in mexico, however ;)
