Automatic cocomment with a Greasemonkey Script

This new tool had one small problem: You had to remember to click the bookmarklet in order to make cocomment pick up your comment.

Not any longer. At solutionwatch.com you can grab a Greasemonkey script that will ping cocomment for you:

It just occurred to me that one could easily create a Greasemonkey script for Firefox that will enable coComment if a comment form has been detected. So, I decided to make one quickly! It is very simple.

I’ve got it working for WordPress, TypePad, Blogger, MSN Spaces, and Xanga. Let me know if you run into any problems and I’ll try to fix it. But, as I browse to various blogs, it seems to be working.

Here is the Greasemonkey script: Automatic coComment.

Ain’t that a nifty little script – thanks a bunch!

  2. Doesn’t work consistently in FF on Mac – but that could be the type of site.

@Dennis, I find it doesn’t work on all sites in FF on Windows, too; but it should be possible to hack the script to make it compatible with individual blog tools. Or just remember to clickety-click on that bookmark button… it’s easy to forget with the Greasemonkey script in place. Darned automation making us stupid :-).
