Eleven Expat Blogs in Switzerland

Currently I have eleven blogs tagged as expats.

What is an expat? Glad you asked! According to Wikipedia:

Expatriate
An expatriate (in abbreviated form expat) is someone temporarily or permanently residing in a country and culture other than that of their upbringing and/or legal residence. The word comes from the Latin ex (out of) and patria (country), and is sometimes misspelt as ex-patriot, due to its pronunciation.

So what’s so special about these blogs? Glad you asked! (yes, I’m repeating myself. sue me). What’s special about these blogs is their view on Switzerland: They look at Switzerland from their own, “foreign”, perspective, and see things we probably don’t even notice. It’s fascinating, depressing, funny, and revealing.

Hmm. The job is never done: I’ll have to go over the list to tag the Swiss bloggers living abroad as expats. And I just noticed I missed a couple furriners, too.

Don’t fret, I’ll get to y’all in good time :-).

I hope I don’t depress you too much …. especially when Blog.ch so generously distributes my ramblings.

Actually I’m fine as long as you don’t mention the skiing.

Hi Matthias… Though I don’t always think of myself as one, I’m definitely an ex-pat too… And I only mention skiing very, very rarely :)

Thank you, both for reminding me and for not mentioning the skiing. I’m sure Heather will be very grateful too!
